Artists' Group Meeting, September 2001
Meeting Report
The September meeting of the Artists' Group
was held on September 9, 2001 from 3:00-5:00
at the home of Brad Fischer and Katherine Setar.
Those attending were: Tom Bickley, Brad Fischer, Marianne McDonald, Lisa
Mischke, Katherine Setar, and Toyoji Tomita
The meeting consisted of pot luck snacks, and discussions regarding the
2002 Pauline Oliveros Retrospective.
The meeting consisted of the following:
- Katherine Setar gave a presentation describing the contents of the
Pauline Oliveros Archive at the University of California, San Diego.
The archive contains of all of Pauline's works from the 1950s through
the early 1980s. Katherine has examined all of the archive's written
contents as a part of her doctoral research, and exhibited her
collection of printed scores, manuscript copies, and notes which
describe Pauline's many compositions. The notes which describe the
contents of the U.C.S.D. Archive have been just uploaded for viewing by
Toyoji Tomita at yahoo:

- Toyoji Tomita briefly discussed his initial efforts to find funding
for the Oliveros Retrospective. Similarly, Tom Bickley discussed the
initial programming meeting held on Friday night, September 7, 2001.
The plans are, as yet, still somewhat tentative.
- Those members of the Artists' Group in attendance decided to
continue holding monthly meetings, despite people's busy holiday
schedules in November and December. In light of the huge amount of work
necessary to put on this retrospective, we all believed that consistent
meetings would help insure the success of this project.
